Unveiling the Two Secret Weapons of Satan Revealed to Prophet Noah (AS) to Mislead Mankind"

Discover the encounter between Prophet Noah and Satan, where two of Satan's foremost weapons, envy (hasad) and greed (tamak), were exposed. Learn how to guard against these treacherous tactics employed by Satan.

Throughout history, Prophets, Messengers, and righteous individuals have shared invaluable advice, warnings, and messages about the cunning schemes of Satan and his cohorts. Their guidance aims to shield us, as enemies of Satan, from his perilous deceptions.

One such cunning ploy of Satan was disclosed during a meeting between Prophet Noah (Peace Be Upon Him) and the accursed Satan on his ark. This captivating tale is chronicled in the book "Ihya' 'Ulumuddin" by Imam Abu Hamid Al Ghazalli (may Allah have mercy on him), dated around 505 H.

Prophet Noah's Encounter with Satan on the Ark

Once, Prophet Noah (Peace Be Upon Him) noticed an unfamiliar elderly man on his ark. Curious, he inquired, "Who are you, and how did you come aboard this ship?" The elderly man replied, "I am Satan, an enemy of Allah and of yours. I have entered this vessel to tempt the hearts of your followers, so that they incline more towards me than towards you."

Prophet Noah became angered and declared, "Depart from this ship, O enemy of Allah!" But before departing, Satan added, "I possess five foremost weapons to mislead humanity. I will reveal three of them and keep two concealed."

The Two Lethal Weapons of Satan

Allah, the Most High, then addressed Prophet Noah, saying, "You do not require knowledge of those three weapons. Instruct him (Satan) to reveal the two hidden ones." Prophet Noah commanded Satan to disclose his two ultimate weapons.

Satan disclosed, "The two most potent weapons to mislead humanity are envy (hasad) and greed (tamak). With these traits, I have caused my own downfall and led numerous humans astray. Through envy, I earned Allah's curse and became a cursed devil. Through greed, I succeeded in luring Adam (Peace Be Upon Him) out of Paradise by persuading him to consume the fruit of Khuld."

From this account, we draw the lesson that Satan's two most perilous weapons are envy and greed. These traits stem from a servant's ingratitude towards Allah, the Most High.

One who harbors envy will forever covet what others possess and be discontented with Allah's blessings upon them. The greedy will always seek to acquire everything without regard for the boundaries of what is permissible and forbidden. These traits distance a servant from Allah's mercy and draw them closer to His wrath.

May Allah grant His protection to us and the entire Muslim community from the temptations of Satan and his legions. Ameen.

Wallaahu a’lam.
