5 Levels of Hajj Based on Requirements
Level 1: Absolutely Valid Hajj
At this level, Hajj is considered absolutely valid without strict conditions. The primary requirement is being Muslim. This means Hajj performed by a child, an insane person, a slave, or a menstruating woman is still considered valid.
Level 2: Valid Self-Performed Hajj
For this level, Hajj is valid if performed independently by the individual. The requirements include being Muslim and having the ability to distinguish between right and wrong (tamyiz). The person must be able to perform all the Hajj rituals on their own, such as tawaf and sa'i.
Level 3: Valid Nadzar Hajj
Nadzar Hajj is a vow to perform Hajj if a certain condition is met. The requirements for a valid Nadzar Hajj include being Muslim, having tamyiz, and being of legal age (baligh). These conditions ensure that the individual making the vow understands the commitment they are making.
Level 4: Fulfilling the Islamic Obligation of Hajj
This level meets the requirement to fulfill the Islamic obligation of Hajj. The conditions include being Muslim, having tamyiz, being baligh, and being free (not a slave). Performing Hajj at this level satisfies the religious duty of Hajj in Islam.
Level 5: Obligatory Hajj
The highest level is the obligatory Hajj. To achieve this level, a person must meet five main conditions: being Muslim, having tamyiz, being baligh, being free, and having the capability (istitha'ah). Istitha'ah includes physical, financial, and security capabilities for the Hajj journey.
