In the tale of Prophet Moses (AS) and his companion, we explore how his friend was transformed into a pig by Allah SWT due to his pursuit of worldly gains at the cost of his faith. Let's also uncover the valuable lessons embedded within this narrative.

Prophet Moses (AS) stands as one of the revered messengers of Allah SWT, whose story is recounted in the Quran. He had a close companion who often accompanied and served him. This companion, in his close association with Moses (AS), acquired profound knowledge, often quoting phrases like "Moses (AS), the Word of Allah, has informed me" or "Moses (AS), the Friend of Allah, has spoken to me." As a result of these utterances, Allah SWT blessed him with wealth and abundance.

One day, Prophet Moses (AS) desired to meet his devoted friend and inquire about his well-being. However, after an extensive search, he was unable to locate his companion. Eventually, he encountered a person who was leading a pig tethered with a black cord.

Prophet Moses (AS) inquired of this individual, "Do you happen to know the whereabouts of Fulan, the one I am searching for?" The man replied, "Yes, I do. This is the very person you seek" as he pointed to the pig.

Prophet Moses (AS) was taken aback by this response and fervently prayed, "O Allah, I beseech You to restore him to his former state, so that I may inquire about the circumstances that led to this transformation."

Allah SWT then spoke to Prophet Moses (AS), saying, "O Moses, even if you were to pray with the supplication of Adam, I would not grant your request. However, I shall elucidate the reason behind your friend's condition. He has become this way because he sought worldly gains at the expense of his faith."

Allah SWT had punished Moses' companion for betraying his faith in pursuit of worldly interests. He exploited the words of Prophet Moses (AS) to garner sympathy from the people and derive personal gain from them.

It is essential to understand that "the world" encompasses more than just material wealth. Anything that distances an individual from the path to seek Allah's pleasure is part of the worldly distractions.

Hence, a knowledgeable person should engage in spreading the faith with the intention of seeking Allah's pleasure, purely for His sake. Success and happiness in this world and the hereafter hinge on earning the pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala with sincerity and devotion.
