Snapchat has announced the launch of a new feature called My AI that supports interaction within the app using chatbot AI. Previously, this feature was only available to Snapchat Plus paying customers, but now it can be used by all users for free.
My AI is also becoming a more integral part of Snapchat, which can help enhance the user experience. The chatbot feature of My AI can be added to group chats by mentioning it using the @ symbol, and users can customize their bot's appearance and name with a special Bitmoji avatar.
Moreover, My AI can recommend AR filters suitable for use on the Snapchat camera or interesting places that can be visited from the app's map tab.
ChatGPT, the supporter and creator of My AI chatbot, previously opened access to its chatbot for third-party businesses more than a month ago. Since its public release in November 2022, ChatGPT has impressed many users with its impressive ability to produce original essays, stories, and song lyrics in response to user requests.
As reported by The Verge, 99.5 percent of My AI responses comply with Snapchat's community guidelines. To protect against potentially inappropriate or harmful responses, Snap has made changes to moderation technology and added new features to its parental controls in the app.
In Snapchat's own words, they will continue to use this early learning to make AI a safer, more fun, and beneficial experience.
Snapchat focuses on developing features or devices that can maximize the augmented reality (AR) experience, such as the latest drone device called Pixy. The Pixy drone is sold for $229 and can support users' selfie activities on Snap.
Overall, My AI can be an example of the use of chatbot AI in daily life and how much people desire to interact with customer service and other usage in their favorite apps.
This new feature is expected to help enhance user experience and interaction within the Snapchat app.
